Ray Horner Jr., born in New Haven Connecticut in 1952. I graduated from the University of Connecticut (B.F.A.) and received his Masters of Fine Arts’ degree from the University of Massachusetts.
I am attempting to explore different associations with common subject matter of my surroundings and community which include my family and friends.
The use of gestural brush work help to indicate the form and movement in my paintings. I deliberately understate of some areas of the painting to let the viewer participate in the reconstructive process of feeling in the blanks.
I prefer to integrate the importance of a strong moral society with cultural traditions such as family in my work. This symbolizes a universal message
